I hope you get a figurative break from dealing with this shit, too. Sending my love and hugs to you. I hope some of the anxiety eases soon and hope there are some positive energizing things ahead of all this.
I’m not very good at words of comfort in English as it’s not my first language, so I’ll tell you ones from my language instead. I wish you health and I’m keeping you and your family in my heart. I hope things get better for you soon.
I felt this, and I’m so sorry. I’ve been through three colposcopies and am likely coming up on my 4th (but been pushing it off because I’m sick of having stuff wrong with me). Anyway, let me know if it’s ok to message with advice on it because there’s stuff I really wish people (read: medical professionals) had told me beforehand. -Angelina
Praying for even just a smidgen of mental and emotional margin. For Grace upon yourself as you find yourself smushed up against your limits. For a deep, slow breath. For someone to help shoulder the mental load. For real, helpful and productive answers!! Hugs.
A pause button on the body and brain sure would be nice. I'm sorry you are having all these things to sort out coming at you and I hope it helpful to park it here. Sorry to hear that your mom had polyps so young, I assume she must have had some sort of concerning symptoms to have the polyps found at that young age so I hope that it has not gone any further for her.
I saw you saying you did want advice so here's my 2 cents on colonoscopy--please ignore if not wanted. I've had sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy, and although the sigmoidoscopy doesn't go as far into the body I found the colonoscopy easier because--at least the way my provider does it--they use conscious sedation for colonoscopy but not for sigmoidoscopy. For both the prep is the suckiest part IMHO, mostly because it lasts a couple days. For me I find that the first day when I am using the toilet like mad that I want minimal commitments, but the second day when things are mostly flushed out and the diet is very limited that I want to be busy with distractions. My husband was really stressed about not eating so he got lots and lots of yellow and green popsicles (can't have red, orange or purple because it might look like something during the procedure) and that helped him cope better than my go-tos of tea and chicken broth. All in all though, I find the -scopies easier to get through than MRIs and I am hoping you find the same. Sending hugs.

Me too. Thank you very much.
