I have been sitting here thinking about my Substack space. A lot really. I love it here and want to make it work for me. I do adore the spaces I created on Instagram and Facebook. But there’s something about being able to just...write. And offer that straight to the ppl who want it. I don’t feel as though I am chasing an audience here like I do on social media.
I do so much. I work so much. This change is about ease. And I don’t lean into that often. I have all these spaces and there’s so many things to offer to each one that having a separate paid and unpaid was burning me out. You have to created on top of creating and then create something else that you feel is worthy of being behind the paywall.
I got tired.
So, all my newsletters will be weekly and unpaid. The comments sections will be open to those with paid subscriptions. There might be a thing here and there I want to test out with the paid subs but for the most part these newsletters will be unpaid to read and any subscriptions you offer will be because you wish to honor my work in that way.
I already feel this sense of relief right now. I’ll be in a season of transition and hope to have this place going strong by next week.
Also, I am on a mission of prioritization. I need to organize my life in such a way that I have energy for the things that matter most and I don’t regret not doing the things I should have been doing.
I have so much work going on that I am disorganized and living in chaos.
I got a planner that I can actually write in and not rely on a digital one. And I have mapped out a life plan for myself. Something with what I hope is a healthy life/work balance.
I only plan on sending out one newsletter per week. I might bother y’all with a thread or two in between. I will take advantage of the notes here. But for the most part, once a week.
Actually everything I do online will be once per week. I’m only going to share on social media on Mondays. I’m only doing Substack newsletters on Tuesdays. Wednesdays I am focusing on my fidgets and fries contract work. Thursdays are for Patreon.
Speaking of Patreon, that is the space that is going to house the creative side of me. Where Substack is life things, advocacy things, the occasional story, Patreon houses the book things, the workshop things, playing with photography things, the creating all kinds of things.
If you’d like to join me there. There is a free option. I haven’t quite figured out if I am going to change the structure there just yet. But for now most everything there is behind a paywall. And I might not change that one cause many things are literal work there, like the upcoming workshops and creative presentations.
But bringing us back to center, my Substack will be paid to comment or just to offer general support, but free to read. Always.
Unless I change it again.
Alright, off to make this space great again.
Heh, see what I did there?
Bet you wish I wouldn’t do it again.
I won’t.
Promise.
Keep writing Tiffy. I just read an article for my current research project in my MEd in Learning and Instructional Design, and they have your BIG book of ABA+ race, etc etc listed as a reference for their particular research. Your work is making an impact and that is leading to hundreds of professionals making different decisions that will hopefully open that many more doors for neurodivergent folks.
