30 days of stories from the warm side of weird

Continuing the stories with a short one as our family’s first flight experience yesterday was draining.

Once upon a time there lived a family in the great country of Narnia (basically Navasota, TX but potato, cucumber, right?!).

The “head of household” for tax purposes only, told the Mrs. that his metal chariot (his car) was broken. He decided he would walk to work each day as the family lived across the street from his place of employment. He did this for about a month. Saving to fix a car that wouldn’t start takes some time, y’know?

The Mrs. finally decided to take a look at his metal chariot. She wondered if it was indeed broken.

She relied on her skills from the College of YouTube and the healing power of swear words.

Eventually, she found out that it was not broken.

It just needed gas. 

He let the poor thing starve. And it gave out on him. 

The Mrs. decided to keep this information to herself for a week longer. She had faith her husband would figure it out. Her faith was misguided. She would spend the next few months evaluating the things and people she chose to believe in.

Soon, it stormed and guilt hit her harder than that hail that slammed her husband’s face on that walk home. 

She told him his metal chariot wasn’t broken, just hungry. 

He was thankful for his wife. Though he did not know that she didn’t tell him for a week. 

Now, he does.

ETA: I recycled this story. I shared it once before. He most definitely knows that I knew about his starving car for a little bit before I told him. We had another car and he walked to work. So, we were good and we actually liked the money we saved from not driving it, lol.

Now, I could have told him but this was not the first, second, third, etc he has let a car run out of gas.

I honestly think his mind should have gone there first.

We also learned that at there while there were cons to not having a second car, we could actually survive with one.
